Choosing a Contractor
Questions to ask:

1)Is the contractor licensed?
2)Does the contractor have liability and workers’ compensation insurance?
3)Does the contractor have a reputation for quality, and will he provide a list of references?
4)Is the contractor willing to provide a warranty?
5)Does the contractor thoroughly inspect the project , prior to the estimate and share his findings and concerns with you?
6)Does the contractor provide a written estimate including specifics on the work to be done, options on the work to be done, the timeline for completion (including clean-up) and the cost all on company letterhead?
7)Does the contractor have an actual mailing address and a legit business? Not a PO Box number or false address
8)Is the contractor going to supervise all phases of the project and provide final inspection?
9)Does the contractor have a pager or cellular number in case of emergency, and will he be available weekends?
10)Does the contractor belong to the Better Business Bureau and how does he handle complaints?
11)Does the contractor follow all local and state codes and restrictions?
